Goodwill Finds

Goodwill Finds is an ongoing personal project focused on identifying, documenting, and evaluating purses discovered while thrifting at Goodwill. Through detailed observations of design, construction, branding, and overall quality, I use this project to strengthen my eye for authenticity and craftsmanship.

Each entry captures why a particular bag stood out, what design elements were noteworthy, and what I learned from examining it. This project reflects my interest in fashion analysis, sustainable shopping practices, and visual storytelling and demonstrates how careful observation can turn everyday thrift finds into valuable creative insights. To document these items I have decided on three different mediums:

Goodwill Finds Google Site

A curated archive of my Goodwill purse discoveries, documenting design details, authenticity cues, and what makes each find noteworthy.

Instagram

Short-form visual highlights of standout thrifted purses, focusing on design, craftsmanship, and the stories behind each find.

Goodwill Finds Magazine

A digital/ physical mini-magazine showcasing selected purse discoveries with photography, and insights into trends, quality, and authenticity.

Through this project, my goal is to demonstrate a thoughtful, research-driven approach to creative work — one that blends observation, analysis, and visual documentation. Whether I’m sharing a quick discovery or a deeper look at a specific piece, Goodwill Finds reflects my ability to identify quality, communicate insights clearly, and bring everyday objects to life through storytelling and design.
